Ripon is located in North Yorkshire on the banks of the River Ure. It’s a historic market town that was founded nearly 1500 years ago, it’s most famous for it’s stunning Cathedral and the Monastery which has stood there since the 7th Century.
Modern day Ripon has a thriving Market which is held every Thursday attracting traders from all over the region, selling the very best in Yorkshire produce.
For a great day out Ripon Racecourse has a number of fixtures right through the Spring and Summer and into the early Autumn. The biggest race meeting of the season, which is held in mid August, is host to the St Wilfred Handicap, and attracts some of top racehorses in the UK.
